All the Gear

Below, you will see my complete gear list for the tour. It looks like a ton of stuff, but most of it is pretty small. My bike (Surly Long Haul Trucker) weighs in at 30 lbs. When it’s fully loaded, the weight jumps up to around 60 lbs.

Tubus front and back racks

Ortlieb front rollers and back rollers

Lone Peak Alta handlebar bag

PB Cascadia fenders

Marmot Tungsten 1P tent with fly and footprint

Big Agnes sleeping pad

Small compressible camp pillow

Feathered friends egret nano 20 sleeping bag

Bontrager Ion 800r

External Battery

Lezyne Super GPS

GoPro Hero 4

Adventure Cycling Association TransAm maps

4 water bottles & empty Camelback bladder

3 dry fit tank tops

1 short sleeve dry fit

1 long sleeve dry fit

3 pairs of bike shorts

1 pair of Patagonia shorts for rest days

Bedrock sandals

Cycling shoes

Pearl Izumi leggings

Marmot down jacket

Rain jacket/pants

Cycling gloves

Small-ish microfiber towel

Pocket rocket stove and cooking supplies (small pot, small skillet, matches, fork, spoon, knife)

Bike repair supplies (patch kit, extra tube, pump, multitool, etc.)

Ummm….well, that’s almost everything. I’m sure there are small things left off the list. 💁🏼‍♀️

So, my brain knows that I am leaving on Saturday…but I don’t think it will truly set in until we actually get in the vehicle and head to Yorktown. I’ll probably have plenty of time in the car for one more (sappy) post before we start.

Guys….we start our trip in 4 days. 😳
